Q: Can I work with ASCII instead of ANSI caracter set?
A: Yes, FoldMaster is able to use ASCII and ANSI character set. Please
take account of the following points:
To show an ASCII-file with the right character set after loading simply right click on the file in the project window (make sure that the cursor is on this line). From the pop up menu select Properties of module.... Select the option OEM mode to ON. Click on OK. Now you can edit the file as usual.
FoldMaster additionally allows you to show files with ASCII character set for any syntax you want. To do so click on the appropriate option on the Options Tap in the syntax definition.
If you don't use a project file you can also select this option after
loading of the file.
Open the file
Right click on the file window. From the pop up menu select Properties of module.... Select the option OEM mode to ON. Click on OK.
FoldMaster also can convert the file. To do so please follow this instructions:
Open the file
Select the part to convert (or the whole file with the menu Edit => Select all)
Click now in the menu Edit => More block operations => OEM->ANSI
Please take account that you convert the file into ANSI (or back with ANSI->OEM). This may cause some problems with not displayable caracters.
Q: I have problems when executing an assembler (16 bit DOS Tool)? The assembler can't find the file or the path, although all parameters are correct.
A: The problem occurs, if parameters are transferred to a 16 bit DOS
application, those the tool can't, or only incorrectly can analyse. This
among other things long path and/or file name can be. Pay attention with
the call of older tools to the fact that them, e.g. during the path specification,
which short pseudonym indicates or still better:
Use in such projects only path- and file names, which correspond to the 8.3 conventions of DOS. Here particularly pay
attention to the transfer of the parameters by transfer macros.
Q: I can't create any folds, why?
A: This can have several causes, please check out the following points:
The file is write protected, this is the default mode after opening. Switch the file under = > file = > unprotect into read/write mode. If the file is larger than the limit in the demo version, then it is not possible to remove the write protection.
For this type of file is no syntax filter defined. Complete under = > options = > syntax filters an appropriate filter for the type of file extension.
